Fuerte carlista de Ollargan (Basauri)

Between September and October 2022, an archaeological intervention was carried out in the Ollargan Carlist Fort (Basauri). The project comprised two main activities: prospecting with metal detectors and the archaeological excavation of four assessment sondages. Although the results were of little interest in terms of remains from the Second Carlist War, we did document an important phase linked to the Spanish Civil War. Overall, the data obtained reflect the intense militarisation undergone by the site during the last two civil wars.
