A mine in the North of Argentina, a pollutedriver in Ethiopia, a depressed rural area in Greece and itsoverdeveloped counterpart. What do they have in common? Even ifwe do not realise it, archaeology is in the middle of many issuesthat strongly affect the environment and local communities. In along tradition of no-dealing with them, the radical turn of the 80sopened a window that still misses most of the impact. Building onthe flaws in the management of archaeological heritage, its actualpower and a more inclusive practice, we will delve into howarchaeology can have a more positive impact with little effort.
