Summary
This is the first summer school, part of the project “Critical Heritage studies and the future of Europe – towards an integrated, interdisciplinary and transnational training model in cultural heritage research and management” (CHEurope). In this sense, our aim is to approach different contexts, ideas and critical perspectives on heritage as well as to reflect on ways of producing knowledge and methodologies for different investigations conducted by each Early Stage Researcher. The programme of our summer school will be divided into two main topics: academic writing and ethnographic methods. On the topic of academic writing, our goal is to encourage through discussions and provide from a critical perspective of the science system insights into academic design and production, such as citations and scienciometrics, open-access, publications, gender aspects within academia, editorial practices, interdisciplinarity and other relevant topics. For the part of our programme focused on ethnographic methods, our aim is to provide the participating ESRs with insight into different ethnographic methods and techniques applicable in each individual ESR project.
