Summary
In 2018, an archaeological intervention was carried out in a fortified settlement located in the south-western mountains of the province of León, in northwestern Iberia. The excavated area shows an occupation horizon chronologically dated between the fourth and fifth centuries AD, which differs from previous proposals that dated the site to Early Roman Imperial times. After describing the materials and methods followed during this research, we will analyse the archaeological evidence gathered, consisting of the structural remains of a room and a series of materials recovered inside it. Among them, a large pottery collection stands out. Finally, we offer an interpretation of the complex as a domestic storehouse in the transition from the Late Roman Empire to the Early Middle Ages.
