The synthesis and integration of knowledge was achieved through conceptual maps and models, while primary data was collected from interviews and workshops. The main outcome was an extension of theCultural Heritage Abstract Reference Model (CHARM) for the elaboration of heritage protection instrumentsfocused on species, ecosystems, landscapes and ecosystemic services. This model is expressed in ConML language, which allows its translation into databases for the recording and information management.
