Final workshop of the HINTERLAND project

Tracking traces of activity outside the hillforts

This two-day meeting aims to share the main results obtained by the HINTERLAND Project. This project, developed between 2022 and 2025, sought to understand the activities of the inhabitants of Iron Age hillforts in north-western Spain outside the walls of the settlements. Through the use of various non-invasive methodologies and different scales of work, it has been possible to document a wide range of archaeological evidence that significantly modifies our knowledge of this historical context. In addition to presenting the results, we will also hear about similar experiences in other study areas and discuss possible future prospects.
